Distance and Trail Rating: 5/11 km 2+
Start Point Address / Driving Directions:
5850 Eubank Blvd NE. From I-40 take exit 165 and proceed north on Eubank Blvd for about 5 miles until you reach the Smith’s Grocery Store on your right. From I-25 take exit 232 and drive east (toward the mountains) on Paseo Del Norte for about 2.5 miles until you reach Eubank Blvd. Turn right on Eubank Blvd and you will find Smith’s Grocery Store on your left after about 1.5 miles. Event Description: Open daily from 7 am to 10 pm. Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. The trail begins at Smith’s and follows city sidewalks, the Arroyo del Oso, and paths around the Albuquerque Academy. During this hike you will have spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains and the Albuquerque Academy, a prestigious private school for grades 6-12, which has a beautiful campus. The trail around the Academy is a popular walking and jogging trail for local residents. Be sure to carry water and use sunscreen, as the hike elevation is above 5000 ft.
