800 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque NM 87104, 505-843-6300. From Albuquerque take I-40 to Exit 157A South on Rio Grande Blvd for 3 blocks and Hotel Albuquerque is on your left. Start box is at the hotel registration desk. Event Description: Available daily dawn to dusk. On the Old Town/Downtown Albuquerque walk you will stroll through charming Old Town where the city was born, past museums you may want to tour after the walk, through historic residential neighborhoods, and on to downtown Albuquerque, where you will enjoy several architecturally significant buildings, as well as one of the first Hilton Hotels in the world. In Civic Plaza you will see a moving Holocaust Memorial. You will walk segments of Historic Route 66 -- the "Mother Road" from Chicago to Los Angeles, the El Camino Real -- the Royal Road from Mexico City to Santa Fe, and the Pan American Highway from Canada to Mexico, passing by numerous city parks, restaurants, and a brewery.
