Valles Caldera Public Appreciation Day

Okay snowshoers and cross country skiers... How about we get together on Tuesday 12/29 and head over to the Valles Caldera to take advantage of a free snow play day? ABQ-ians, let's meet at the Sunflower Market parking lot at 9:00. We'll leave by 9:15 in order to give us ample time to arrive at the staging area by 11:15. Santa Fe members might want to arrange to meet us in Bernalillo or at the VC main gate. Whichever is easiest ... just email me with your plans. I'll be checking with VC admin about snow conditions so all "Yes" and "Maybe" RSVP-ers please keep a lookout in your inbox for updates. Please be sure to dress for changeable weather and aerobic exercise. Remember some of the tips we got at the REI workshop regarding gear and clothing. Be prepared to Layer Up..and Down! Bring plenty of water, lunch and snacks. We'll be carpooling so please bring cash to reimburse the drivers for gas. Perhaps we can stop at the Range Cafe in Bernalillo for dinner on the way home! "Public Appreciation Days Two free public appreciation days will be offered this season, December 28th and 29th! Bring the whole family out to take advantage of the skiing opportunities on the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Free skiing and snowshoeing will be offered from 9AM-5PM. No pets are allowed on the Preserve, only working assistance animals are allowed. Check in and check out at the Valle Grande staging area are required to take advantage of this opportunity."
