Are you always seemingly running into the "wrong" sort of romantic partner? Do you erect barriers or find something fundamentally wrong with your partner when someone gets too close for comfort? It's called self-sabotage. Welcome to it. Awareness of our behavior is the cure. For all of us - male and female - commitment fears are part of the price we pay for having freedom and having choices. With freedom comes the threat of the loss of freedom, and it is this very threat that is so often at the core of the struggle with commitment. In and of itself, fear of commitment is not the problem. However, if it's hurting you it's a problem, and if it's hurting someone else it's a problem. This empowerment group will tackle the issue of commitment phobia, that persistent obstacle to truly satisfying contemporary relationships. We will explore why modern men and women are torn between the desire for intimacy and the equally intense need for independence. We will gather with the intention to create genuine, sustained intimacy with our romantic partners. It's important for everyone - male and female - to become aware of how our behavior can hurt others and modify it accordingly. Our process will include suggestions and ways in which both partners in a relationship can modify their behavior. Though commitment challenges may be more obvious today than ever before, that doesn't mean that everyone has given up on relationships. Together we will: Explore our commitment issues as it relates to everything in our life: Learn more about building and maintaining committed relationships, even in the face of fear Learn how to push forward in spite of our anxieties Learn how to find suitable partners Learn how to make ourselves into a suitable partner Learn how to work more constructively toward the goal of commitment Learn how to attain more meaningful, loving, and supportive relationships Starting January 13, 2010 8:00 - 9:00 pm MST Created and Facilitated by Angela R. At Living Empowered money is an exchange of energy. It represents what we are willing to invest in ourself. Before you make a choice to take action towards your self discovery and healing, I challenge you to ask yourself, 'What am I worth? What am I willing to invest in myself? What is the value I receive when I invest in my personal growth and transformation?'" ~Angela R. Vigil
