Yoga is the union between the mind and the body. What distinguishes yoga from other forms of physical training is its focus on directing the breath into the areas of the body where you feel the tigtness during each posture. Yoga is a non competitive sport and everyone can enjoy and benefit from their experience in a non threatening environment. Athletes from other sports benefit from yoga to lengthen their muscles and connective tissue. Beginning with a short mediation to calm the mind and nervous system, the group will be lead through a series of poses to stimulate the body and strengthen the muscles. Every class includes instruction on how to execute a pose and do's and don'ts to avoid injury. Each class is structured to the level of those attending. We end by performing restorative poses to help create a calming effect in both the mind and body. You owe it to yourself to try this 2000 year old practice. Namaste
