Palace Theatre

There's irony in the fact that, what started as an ordinary movie theater, has become a picturesque entertainment venue that looks like it's straight out of a period film. The RKO movie palace was erected in 1931 and, at the time, was the third largest movie theater in the world. The outside of the building is primarily brick, while the inside is reminiscent of a 16th century Austrian-style opera house. In the early 70s, it was purchased by the city and converted into a civic auditorium, and has since scheduled legendary performers like the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and Jerry Seinfeld. The Palace Theatre has also received a number of renovations since that time providing more space and modern features while still retaining its historic and classic appearance.
