"For the love of the music, nothing else matters!"

805 South (8-oh-5 South) is a Los Angeles based band. Band founders are Candy from Nashville, and Lisa Shea from Memphis. 805 South is a fusion of original Memphis Rhythm and Blues, Nashville songwriting, southern rock guitar, groove pumping drums and smooth bluesy bass lines. If “Black Crowes”, “Etta James”, and “Cream” had a baby than 805 South would be that love child. They have been called by fans “Stevie Ray Vaughan” with chicks and female “Jimi Hendrix”

805 South started as a song. Lisa and Candy wrote the song “805 South” while taking a trip to the San Diego Zoo. After much thought, we named the band 805 South and renamed the song "Woke Up This Morning". When they got back to LA, they created craigslist ads containing only a-cappella songs, to find a guitarist, bassist, and drummer.

The first response was from Mike Daily former guitarist of “Antler Joe & The Accidents” a 80s punk band from Fort Myers, Fl. They met him at NoHo Denny’s on Lankershim and Burbank. He took their melodies and brought them to life. 805 South had their first two public gigs at “The Joint” and “B.B. Kings” Club Universal City Walk. Shorty after those great performances the band disbanded. Lisa and Candy reunited with Mike, met Sev the drummer, and eventually found Steve on bass.

805 South songs are available for film/TV and online/college or mainstream radio stations. 805 South is continually creating new songs, booking new venues, and building a fan base. They plan to earn a spot on tour with blues and rock artists such as Black Crowes, Ben Harper and Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Bonnie Raitt, and whomever want to have them, and later headline their own tour. 805 South is currently working on their first CD at Barn Production. Their debut, eleven song CD is set to release in early summer of 2008.
